During his PPL theory instruction at NNAC-Eelde, author Cees Sterks noticed that many students lacked sufficient knowledge of mathematics and physics. Some had never properly learned it, others needed a refresher, and some simply wanted more in-depth understanding beyond the exam requirements.

About the author:
Cees Sterks (b. 1949) was Professor of Economics at the University of Groningen. He has been flying since 1975, partly as an instructor, and became increasingly interested in the theory of flight. He also authored the well-known Practical Flight Instruction for LAPL and PPL, first published in 1982, which has helped hundreds of pilots obtain their licenses.
